Every custom home starts with an on-site consultation to discuss your vision, budget, and timeline. From there we move through design, permitting, site preparation, foundation, framing, mechanical systems, and finishes. Current build costs in Central Texas typically run $195–$225 per square foot. Benz Construction’s standard model is cost-plus pricing at Cost +15%. We purchase all materials in-house rather than having our trades provide them, which removes the trade markup and helps our clients save money compared to how many builders structure their pricing. Final cost depends on your specific design, site conditions, and finish selections.

Custom home timelines typically run 6 to 12 months from start to completion. Outside factors — permitting timelines in Williamson, Travis, or Bell County; material lead times; and site-specific conditions — can affect that window. We’ll provide a project-specific timeline estimate during your initial consultation.

After you submit a quote request or call us, we schedule an on-site visit at your home or property. Travis Blattner is personally involved in evaluating new projects. We discuss your vision, timeline, and budget, then develop a written proposal from there.

You don’t need complete plans to get started. The majority of the time, Travis works directly with the client through the design process — no middleman, just straightforward conversations about what you want and what works. If needed, we’re also happy to work with your existing designer or bring in one of our trusted third-party designers to fill any gaps.

Yes. We handle permitting anywhere we do work — including projects in Williamson County, Travis County, Bell County, and western Milam County. Permit requirements vary by project type and jurisdiction, but coordinating that process is part of how we manage your project from start to finish.
